MultiXair Fabric Duct Installation Guide – Accessories Section

There are many types of fabric ducts on the market, and while their installation methods differ, they are largely similar. This article will detail the installation method of MX fabric ducts. MX fabric ducts are primarily made of 100% polyester fiber, a B1 grade material. This fiber is woven from flame-retardant yarns into flame-retardant threads, which are then woven into flame-retardant fabric, providing permanent flame retardancy and permeability. Besides the duct itself, various accessories are required to complete the installation of the entire ventilation system.

Currently, there are two main installation methods for fabric ducts: wire rope installation and sliding rail installation. In the installation of fabric ducts, besides the main duct material, what auxiliary materials and accessories are needed, and how should the models be selected? Below are some commonly used accessories in fabric duct systems.

I. The main accessories in a wire rope installation system include:

1. Angle Iron: Angle iron is mainly used as a support in fabric duct installation. It is generally made of national standard hot-dip galvanized No. 4 angle iron, i.e., 40*40*4mm. For some high-requirement food processing workshops, stainless steel angle iron may also be used.

2. Steel Wire Rope: Steel wire rope is the main auxiliary material for suspending ducts. The standard specification is often 5mm plastic-coated steel wire rope.

3. Turnbuckle: The function of the turnbuckle is to tighten the steel wire rope. One end is fixed to the angle iron support, and the other end is used to secure the steel wire rope. The standard specification is hot-dip galvanized M10.

4. U-Shaped Lock: The lock is used to secure the steel wire rope. The size is hot-dip galvanized M6.

The above components are commonly used accessories in wire rope systems. In addition to these, other accessories such as expansion bolts, expansion hooks, and threaded rods are available. Specifications for these are not detailed and may be selected based on site conditions. Ductwork comes factory-equipped with hooks. Once the suspension system is installed, ductwork can be easily hung on the wire ropes, allowing for quick and convenient installation and removal.

Another installation method for fabric ducts is track mounting, primarily suited for prefabricated cold storage units where ducts are installed flush with the ceiling. Track mounting requires fewer accessories, mainly including:

1.  Sliding Tracks: These serve as the primary auxiliary material for this installation method, requiring connectors and made of aluminum alloy. Since their grooves must match the ducts, these tracks are not commonly available on the market and must be supplied by the duct manufacturer.

2. Bolts: The track is secured to the ceiling by bolts penetrating the cold storage panel. Bolts are typically hot-dip galvanized M8, with length determined by panel thickness.

3. End caps: End caps seal the track ends and are provided by the manufacturer to match the track. Ducts designed for track installation come with integrated slide rails; during installation, these rails simply slide into the track.

These are the primary installation accessories for fabric duct systems. Additional components may be integrated into the ductwork itself:

1. Hooks & Sliders: Made from flame-retardant ABS material. Hooks are used in wire rope suspension systems, while sliders are for rail suspension systems. Both are custom components featuring the company logo on the sliders.

2. Zippers: Heavy-duty industrial zippers with resin zipper bodies and metal pulls. Brands selected: YKK or SBS.

3. Support rings: Stainless steel material.

4. Directional nozzles, jet nozzles: Directional nozzles are made of flame-retardant ABS material; jet nozzles are fabric nozzles.
